CRC Health Group, the nation’s largest provider of behavioral health and addiction treatment services, headquartered in Cupertino, CA, has announced a new, free Assessment and Resource Center (ARC) in the heart of San Francisco that will act as a link between healthcare service providers and local citizens.

Individuals referred to the center will receive a free assessment for substance abuse, eating and weight management disorders, and will be provided with appropriate support, information and referrals for treatment.  They will also have the opportunity to attend complimentary psycho-education and motivational enhancement groups while they contemplate treatment options and prepare for the next steps on their journeys to recovery.

“CRC is proud to be able to offer this free service to our local community as part of our mission to deliver clinical excellence to individuals and families in need,” said CRC Health Group CEO Andy Eckert.  “Every person struggling with an addiction deserves to receive care and ARC is a truly innovative approach to achieve that goal.”

The San Francisco ARC will be directed by Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Lindsay Goodlin.  A graduate of UC Berkeley’s Post Masters Fellowship in Clinical Social Work, Goodlin has counseled clients with a variety of presenting concerns including substance abuse, eating disorders, domestic violence, sexual assault, depression, anxiety, and life stage issues.

Said Goodlin, “Making the decision to ask for help is a big step.  We want to support that in whatever ways we can. By offering free confidential assessments, support and consultation, we hope to help those in need navigate which treatment option is right for them.”

The ARC staff will be targeting their outreach to local emergency rooms, legal/drug courts, universities, employee assistance programs and the Veteran’s Administration.  When these organizations have appropriate candidates for ARC, referring is as easy as calling a toll-free number to arrange an assessment.

ARC is located in the central Union Square neighborhood of San Francisco and assessments can be arranged by appointment-only by calling 888-941-2539.
